Entry to the studio is via the old red door and the enclosed lockable landing area where you can get your bike gear off and hang it up to dry, ready for tomorrow. The Studio has recently been freshened up with new beds, lounge furniture, breakfast bar and refurbished decks. A separate bathroom with shower and toilet and instantaneous hot water is located in the corner of the otherwise open plan main space. A heat pump provides rapid heating of the studio space to keep you cosy. The Studio is well suited for two adults (three if you’re good friends); or a young family. The bed configuration is three long singles, or a king and one long single, with space for a travel cot. The small but well equipped kitchen area includes cooktop/oven, small fridge, kettle, microwave, coffee pod machine, and ample crockery and cooking utensils, with a BBQ on the front deck. The Studio is more suited to people wanting to eat out most of the time with the option to prepare your own meals every now and then. The large picture window in the front wall means you are always looking over Derby especially from the lounge space, with the sliding door to the covered front deck extending views towards the bottom of Trouty, the iconic Blue Derby trail. The deck is covered (cause sometimes it rains in Derby!) and a comfortable outdoor setting easily seats everyone plus a couple of guests if need be. There are also bar stools in the corner if you want a bit of quiet time to sip on a tea or coffee and take in the view, or take on something more bubbly. Washing facilities and secure bike storage for the studio are located in the bike shed.
