This is a great little green rated link trail from Derby to Branxholm via the pretty Valley Ponds. From Derby the trail travels along the Ringarooma River through glades of tree ferns before crossing the road and going round the tranquil Valley Pond and then on to Branxholm. The trail is predominantly flat but there are some fun and easily rideable descending and ascending switchback sections in and out of a couple of gullies on the way. It’s about 10km ride each way with the rest stops at the Valley Pond providing a good break. This is a favourite with young families with many self-professed non-riders having a go and enjoying this ride with their young kids. You can hire hard tail bikes at Derby and even get a shuttle to the Branxholm end if you just want to ride one way. (insert photo of Valley Pond and trail)
